Abstract
Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk membangun pondasi UMKM juga mengentaskan kemiskinan pada masyarakat Desa Pulau Terap. Peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diberikan kepada ibu rumah tangga adalah salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk dapat membangun UMKM guna mengatasi kemiskinan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan di Desa Pulau Terap Kecamatan Kuok Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau, dengan alasan utama didasarkan pada UMKM yang masih minim dan angka kemiskinan yang masih cukup tinggi. Kelompok sasaran utama adalah ibu rumah tangga. Untuk dapat mencapai tujuan, kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) yang dipadukan dengan metode praktik. Hasilnya pengetahuan serta keterampilan kelompok sasaran meningkat. Potensi ikan nila yang tersedia di lingkungan desa menjadi bermanfaat untuk menjadi tonggak UMKM ibu rumah tangga dengan mengolahnya menjadi kerupuk dan nugget yang memiliki peluang usaha besar.
