Abstract
RESUMO: A areia residual de fundição (ADF) é um dos resíduos oriundos do processo de elaboração de componentes em fundições, atualmente sua produção está estimada em cerca de três milhões de toneladas por ano.Esse resíduo é derivado de uma composição de areia natural bastante fina, sendo constituído basicamente por sílica.Propriedades que tornam o material interessante para aplicação em concreto como um constituinte alternativo ao agregado miúdo natural, de modo a trazer maior sustentabilidade à indústria da construção bem como à indústria metalúrgica, promovendo a simbiose industrial, visto que emprego de resíduos ou subprodutos de diferentes indústrias na produção de concreto pode reduzir os custos no que tange a construção e além de mitigar problemáticas ambientais reduzindo a demanda por materiais de origem natural.Posto isso, nas últimas décadas, vários estudos foram realizados para investigar o efeito da adição de areia residual de fundição como substituição parcial e total da areia comum no concreto.Portanto, este trabalho aborda uma revisão ampla sobre as propriedades físicas, químicas e mecânicas do concreto com ADF.
