Abstract
Inspiré du prêt communautaire, le prêt entre particuliers tente de s’adapter à l’ère du 21e siècle. Dans sa version actualisée dans le Web 2.0, un individu prête une somme d’argent à un autre individu via une plate-forme de prêts qui leur sert d’intermédiaire. Cette forme de prêt alternatif au réseau traditionnel des institutions financières se décline en plusieurs modèles et a connu un essor durant la dernière crise financière, laquelle a entraîné le resserrement des conditions du crédit. Même si la crise du crédit semble se résorber, le prêt entre particuliers par Internet conserve encore son intérêt auprès des internautes motivés par plusieurs raisons, dont la recherche de profits ou la philanthropie. Ce type de prêt soulève toutefois plusieurs enjeux réglementaires.
