Abstract
Paul-André Crépeau a pratiqué l’étude comparative du droit pendant plus de cinquante ans. Il concevait le droit comparé comme une source privilégiée de la connaissance scientifique du droit. Il le considérait aussi comme un instrument très utile, voire indispensable à la réforme du droit en vigueur. Il a contribué activement à institutionnaliser la discipline, notamment en présidant l’Académie internationale et l’Association québécoise de droit comparé. Pour toutes ces raisons, il s’imposait sans aucun doute que cette Association lui rende hommage à l’occasion de ce colloque1, la première manifestation scientifique majeure au sein de notre communauté juridique depuis son décès en juillet 2011.
