Abstract
Le 7 mars 1927, la Chambre des députés française vote un projet de loi qui prévoit la mobilisation en temps de guerre « de tous les Français, sans distinction d’âge ni de sexe». Connue sous le nom de loi Paul-Boncour cette loi envisage pour la première fois en France une mobilisation féminine. Chez les pacifistes françaises, ce projet de loi provoque une vive opposition. À ce jour, peu d’historiens se sont intéressés aux réactions féminines face au projet de loi Paul-Boncour. Pourtant, il s’agit d’un moment fort intéressant du pacifisme féminin qui donne lieu à l’utilisation de méthodes de propagande à la fois novatrices et originales. Celles qui avaient jusqu’alors préféré travailler indépendamment les unes des autres reconnaissent dorénavant la force de l’action collective. Le projet de loi Paul-Boncour donne donc, pour la première fois depuis la fin de la Grande Guerre, l’occasion aux pacifistes de faire front commun devant le gouvernement français.
