Measured performance of an earth-air heat exchanger in a commercial solargreenhouse in Ontario, Canada
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Abstract: A solar greenhouse featuring an earth-air heat exchanger (EAHE) system was studied from August to December 2022. The greenhouse is located in Almonte, Ontario, near Ottawa, and produces hydroponic lettuce yearround. The EAHE system consists of a network of pipes buried beneath the greenhouse, through which air is moved using fans at the inlets. Supplementary heating and cooling performance of the EAHE was examined, as well as humidification and dehumidification via an energy and water balance through the system. Heating coefficient of performance (COP) values ranged from 2.22-2.69, and heat supplied ranged from 9-42 W/m2. Cooling COP ranged from 3.61 to 6.51, and cooling supplied ranged from 26.6-48.1 W/m2. The EAHE system was not found to have a significant effect on humidity levels in the greenhouse. Further work is necessary to fully understand winter performance of the system and optimize the control protocol to make full use of the EAHE system.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
