Abstract
Les changements dans le monde du travail entraînent l’émergence de nouveaux modes de production, et la littérature s’interroge sur leurs effets sur les salariés. Les « romans d’entreprise » Nous étions des êtres vivants de Nathalie Kuperman et Les heures souterraines de Delphine de Vigan décrivent la violence qui s’abat sur des travailleurs considérés comme obsolètes. Cet article examine les représentations littéraires de ce qui peut être nommé une économie de la déchéance, laquelle figure les mécanismes d’un système néolibéral et donne forme à l’aliénation professionnelle. La notion de déchet, qui change en fonction de nos modes de production et de consommation, illustre les effets délétères du marché de l’emploi et de la croissance économique au xxie siècle.
