Abstract
Since its inception in 1975, Prairie Forum has been a major repository of articles on the history of the northern Great Plains, in particular the region encompassed within the current political boundaries of the three Prairie Provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.The purpose of the History of the Prairie West Series is to make available the very best of Prairie Forum to as broad an audience as possible.Each volume in this series is devoted to a single, focused theme.Accompanied by dozens of new illustrations and maps as well as a searchable index, these volumes are intended to be of interest to the general reader as well as the professional historian.
