Abstract
Ian McWhinney became a guiding light for me in 1989 when I read the newly published second edition of his totally marvellous A Textbook of Family Medicine , and it gave me the title of this lecture: “Depth of the knowledge depends on the quality of mind, not on its information content.”[1][1]
