Abstract
Plusieurs religieux et religieuses catholiques sont venus en aide, d’une façon ou d’une autre, aux habitants du Chili à la suite du coup d’État d’Augusto Pinochet le 11 septembre 1973. Cet article se penche sur le rôle joué par des religieuses et des religieux pour maintenir cette connexion solidaire dynamique – parfois en collaboration avec des syndicalistes. Au moment du coup d’État, plusieurs missionnaires étaient au Chili et certains ont aidé des ressortissants chiliens à fuir le pays vers le Canada. Ces personnes ont souvent été les premières à organiser des mouvements de solidarité.
