Abstract
Depuis l’entrée relativement récente des Waorani dans la modernité occidentale, le milieu amazonien dans lequel ils vivent est quadrillé par de nombreux blocs pétroliers. Ces derniers se trouvent aujourd’hui dans une posture paradoxale entre l’attrait pour la technologie, le pouvoir magnétique de la ville et la défense de leur territoire contre l’abattage massif des arbres, l’exploitation et la pollution pétrolières. A partir d’un terrain ethnographique mené en 2021 dans quatre communautés waorani en Equateur, Obepare, Toñampare, Tihueno et Bameno, cet article vise à montrer, voire à faire ressentir, la relation intime que les Waorani entretiennent avec leur milieu.
