L’auteur·e étudie les figures et mondes impossibles en jeu vidéo. À cet effet, iel encadre ses recherches à l’aide d’écrits traitant de l’impossibilité en fiction, notamment certains travaux autour de la théorie des mondes possibles, et s’inspire de démarches touchant la notion de gestes afin de guider ses propres créations. Ces dernières, dont trois sont examinées dans cet article, impliquent chacune un geste de création distinct (l’alternance, la superposition et le mensonge) pour faire émerger des opérations d’annihilation du réel, lesquelles visent à transformer des composantes à l’intérieur d’un monde fictionnel vidéoludique afin de générer des impossibilités perçues. L’auteur·e discute du protocole similaire à chacune des œuvres, exemplifie quelques opérations engendrées par son processus de création, puis s’interroge sur certaines conséquences observées liées aux impossibilités vidéoludiques perçues.
