Abstract
Zero-voltage-zero-current-switching (ZVZCS) DC–DC full-bridge pulse width modulated (PWM) converters are isolated four-switch DC–DC PWM converters that have two converter switches that operate with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and two converter switches that operate with ZCS. The most basic ZVZCS DC–DC converter topologies, such as the ones that are the subject of this chapter, are based on the conventional four-switch PWM DC–DC full-bridge converter structure. A ZVZCS-PWM-FB converter that has a modified secondary instead of a modified primary side is the converter that was proposed with a four-diode secondary diode bridge. It can be implemented with a center-tapped secondary for the sake of simplicity. The chapter ends with examples of ZVS-PWM and ZCSPWM converters that are versions of ZVZCS-PWM converters, but with modifications that make all the converter switches operate with either ZVS or zero-current switching.
