Abstract
En 2021, paraît pour la première fois en traduction française Halfbreed (Sudbury, Prise de parole) de Maria Campbell, un texte autobiographique primordial dans les littératures autochtones du Canada, initialement publié en anglais en 1973. À partir de théories féministes non-autochtones de l’éthique du care, cet article analyse les enjeux de la vulnérabilité de manière subversive. Il fait l’hypothèse que prêter attention aux histoires personnelles des Métis permet de déconstruire les rapports hiérarchiques imposés par le colonialisme et de comprendre le rôle de l’art de raconter dans la restitution des savoirs autochtones.
