Abstract
L’autrice analyse les procès-verbaux d’audience de dossiers judiciaires au moment où le tribunal déclare la sécurité ou le développement de l’enfant compromis pour négligence. Elle documente la participation des familles lors de l’audience, en termes de temps de parole et de dépôt de pièces documentaires, et compare les recommandations de la Direction de la protection de la jeunesse aux ordonnances rendues par le tribunal dans sa décision judiciaire. Elle conclut que les rapports de pouvoir présents à la Chambre de la jeunesse affectent la participation des familles au processus judiciaire, en limitant leur capacité à présenter une preuve à l’audience et à influencer la décision du tribunal.
