Si comparamos la película de Mario Camus Los santos inocentes (1984), no con la novela homónima de Miguel Delibes (1981), sino con el guion correspondiente (firmado por M. Camus, A. Larreta y M. Matji), que se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de España, advertimos abundantes diferencias, tan leves como significativas, que obedecen a correcciones, propuestas y sugerencias del propio Delibes, según demuestra la copia de aquel guion, con anotaciones manuscritas del novelista, que se conserva en el Archivo de la Fundación Miguel Delibes, en Valladolid.
