Vom 7. bis 10. August 2023 lud die International Academy of Sex Research (IASR) zum 49. Mal zur jährlichen Konferenz nach Montréal ein. Ziel dieser Tagung ist es, Forscher*innen unterschiedlicher Disziplinen in den Austausch zu bringen und sowohl inhaltlich als auch methodisch verschiedenste Facetten der Sexualforschung zu beleuchten. Das Programm der Konferenz bot eine breite Palette von über 50 Vorträgen und mehr als 100 Posterpräsentationen. Anders als viele andere Forschungskonferenzen ist die der IASR plenar organisiert, was den Vorteil bietet, dass alle Teilnehmer*innen die Möglichkeit haben, sämtliche Vorträge zu verfolgen und keine Informationen zu verpassen. Allerdings hat diese Organisationsform auch zur Folge, dass seltener kleine Diskussionsrunden entstehen.
