Abstract
Nadszedł czas, bym swoje życie objął jednym rzutem oka i postawił pytanie, czy posłużyło ono jakiemuś celowi, czy raczej utknęło w bezowocnych staraniach.Niestety nikt nie zna odpowiedzi, ponieważ nikt nie zna przyszłości.Dzisiejsza broń czyni niemal pewnym przekonanie, że następna poważna wojna zakończy się eksterminacją ludzkości.Tak mówią wszyscy dobrze zorientowani fachowcy i nie będę tracić czasu na uzasadnienie tego poglądu.Każdy człowiek troszczący się o to, co przyniesie przyszłość, może wybierać tylko między nicością lub ugodą, i nie tylko teraz, ale przez wszystkie przyszłe wieki, dopóki słońce nie zgaśnie.Niestety nasi politycy nie są zaprawieni w rozwiązywaniu tego dylematu.Opierają się, jak mogą, ale ich umysł niezmiennie ześlizguje się w stronę sali sądowej i zbrodni kryminalnej.Gdyby więc ostatni człowiek na Ziemi, kierując się dobrymi intencjami, zechciał wyobrazić sobie morderstwo dokonane na człowieku przedostatnim, to widziałby całą kampanię prowadzoną przez stróżów prawa, siły policyjne, Scotland Yard i sędziego w peruce, jak razem chwytają i skazują zbrodniarza.To się jednak tak nie potoczy.Najpierw zginą niemal wszyscy mieszkańcy Nowego Jorku, a może Pekinu lub Tokio, a potem stopniowo śmierć ogarnie okolicę na skutek głodu wywołanego zapaścią handlu.Później nastąpi dławiąca gardło samotna śmierć w górach i zapanuje wieczna cisza.Jeśli Wielkie Mocarstwa utrzymają dotychczasową politykę, to taki właśnie koniec okaże się nieunikniony.
