Abstract
Entre as bases conceituais de qualquer instrumento de gestão ambiental está a da responsabilidade de cada poluidor pela degradação ambiental do planeta.Particularmente no caso do setor de transportes, observa-se que seu rápido crescimento ao redor do mundo, aspecto alicerçado na ampla oferta de petróleo e seus combustíveis líquidos derivados, resultou em considerável aumento das emissões de particulados e Gases de Efeito Estufa (GEE) na atmosfera.Neste contexto, o biodiesel, um combustível renovável e biodegradável, é tipicamente utilizado no abastecimento de veículos em substituição ao óleo Diesel.O biodiesel representa importante oferta energética alternativa para o segmento de combustíveis e, concomitantemente, seu emprego significa relevante estratégia de abatimento das emissões de GEE e, assim, contribui para a mitigação das mudanças climáticas e de seu mais proeminente fenômeno precursor, o aquecimento global.O Brasil apresenta uma ampla diversidade de matérias-primas para a produção de biodiesel.No intuito de fomentar a produção e o consumo de biocombustíveis, o governo federal instituiu o Programa RenovaBio.No âmbito do programa o óleo de soja e o sebo bovino respondem por notas de eficiência energética distintas
