Abstract
Bu çalışmada temel olarak hayvanlara yönelik tutumların dindarlık ve maneviyat ile ilişkisi ele alınmaktadır. Kendini öznel olarak dindar gören bireylerin hayvanlarla olan ilişkilerini nasıl düzenlediği, sahip olduğu dini inancın hayvanlarla olan ilişkisini ne derece şekillendirdiği bu çalışmanın temel çıkış noktasıdır. Dindarlık eğilimine sahip olduğunu ifade eden bireylerin hayvanseverlikten ne derece etkilendiği çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Dini hayat, yaşantılar ve dinin kişilik üzerindeki etkileri bireyin duygu kontrolü ve çevresi ile etkileşiminde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Psikolojik olarak kendini iyi hisseden bireyler daha huzurlu ve mutlu olmalarının yanı sıra başkalarına yardım etmenin hazzına da ulaşmış olmaktadırlar. Dini davranış ve tutumların gelişmesinde bireylerin içerisinde bulundukları doğal ve beşerî çevre, almış olduğu eğitim, diğer dindar bireylerin tutumları ve var olan zihinsel kapasitesi etkili olmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda yapılmış olan çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin hayvanseverlik tutumlarının dindarlık eğilimine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı araştırılmış ve dindarlık tutumları ile hayvanseverlik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir.
