L’édition Besterman de la correspondance de Voltaire et son supplément de 1976 présentaient déjà une dizaine de lettres échangées par Voltaire et Charles Emmanuel de Crussol, duc d’Uzès, entre 1751 et 1760. La découverte d’un recueil manuscrit au Château d’Uzès, contenant leur correspondance sans doute complète, permet d’ajouter à ce corpus deux lettres de d’Uzès à Voltaire, ainsi qu’une « lettre à un évêque » écrite par d’Uzès en réaction à l’attentat de Damiens, transmise à Voltaire et que ce dernier fit circuler. Nous présentons ces trois lettres ici.
