Abstract
L’unification des deux parties du Yémen, proclamée le 22 mai 1990, a été favorisée par la conjoncture politique internationale, notamment la fin de la guerre froide. Cette réunification, longuement attendue par le peuple yéménite, a alors été perçue comme un processus de construction tourné vers l’avenir et un vecteur de paix. Trente ans plus tard, le pays plonge dans une guerre civile – qui n’est pas la première au cours des dernières décennies – dans laquelle s’impliquent des acteurs régionaux. La crise actuelle est d’une ampleur telle que la cohésion sociale et l’intégrité du pays sont désormais remises en cause et l’unité du pays ne rencontre aujourd’hui plus le consensus populaire.
