Abstract
Résumé Les soirées et les nuits des Lavallois du XVIII e siècle sont souvent troublées par des bandes de « coureurs de nuit ». L'examen des archives de justice permet de préciser leur identité, les types de jeux et de violences qu'ils affectionnent et qui peuvent souvent être interprétées comme un défi à l'ordre social. La spécificité de cette délinquance tiendrait donc non seulement à la nature des actions commises mais aussi aux intentions des acteurs et au regard que portent sur eux les adultes en général et les magistrats en particulier; elle témoigne de la place de la jeunesse dans la société. The evenings and the nights to inhabitants of Laval during the xvnte century are often disturbed by parties of « coureurs de nuit ». The examination of the records of justice permit to specîfy their identity, the types of their plays and the violence they like ; they can often be interpreted like a challenge with the social order. The specificity of this delinquency can be connect with the nature of their actions and also with the intentions of the actors and with the way adults and magistrates look at them ; it shows the place of youth in the society.
