RESUMOObjetivo: conhecer a potencialidade do uso do "Diário do Bebê" na perspectiva de mães de prematuros hospitalizados em terapia intensiva.Método: estudo exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa.A coleta ocorreu em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal no Sul do Brasil de fevereiro a junho de 2022 e consistiu na implantação da ferramenta de apoio emocional "Diário do Bebê", para que mães de prematuros registrassem a vivência durante a internação.Após a entrega, o documento tornou-se posse da mãe e família.Após a alta para a enfermaria, a ferramenta foi avaliada por entrevistas audiogravadas quanto ao seu uso.O processamento dos dados e a análise do texto foram realizados por meio do auxílio do software IRaMuTeQ.Resultado: em sua maioria, as mães eram primigestas, com permanência na terapia intensiva entre 22 e 65 dias.Foram identificadas quatro classes: O uso do "Diário do Bebê" e a resistência inicial; Apoio emocional e demonstração de sentimentos; Uso do "Diário do Bebê" como intermediário na organização dos pensamentos para diálogo com a família; Empoderamento nas questões relacionadas ao cuidado.Conclusão:
