Abstract
Se presenta una revisión del género pastoril en lengua portuguesa y se da noticia de la novela inédita Olympo de pastores, prozas, & verços (1632) de António do Vale de Morais, un libro manuscrito (aparentemente autógrafo) que se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal (BNP) bajo la signatura n.º 11691. También se ofrecen nuevos datos sobre la biografía y la producción literaria de António do Vale de Morais (fl. 1635), un autor prácticamente desconocido en la actualidad, y se valora el interés de Olympo de pastores en el contexto de las letras portuguesas del siglo XVII.
