Abstract

El propósito de la educación secundaria en Chile es contribuir a la formación integral de sus estudiantes y facilitar la continuidad de sus estudios o inserción laboral. Sin embargo, la educación secundaria técnico profesional presenta déficits, y se reconoce la necesidad de actualización de los planes y programas educativos y de la formación inicial y continua del profesorado. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer un modelo de formación docente en competencias socioemocionales en educación secundaria. La metodología utilizada fue cualitativa y los participantes fueron docentes, directivos y estudiantes. Los instrumentos fueron grupos focales y encuestas. Los datos se analizaron mediante un análisis documental y teoría fundamentada. Dentro de los principales resultados se destaca el Modelo VAS: Vínculos y Aprendizaje Socioemocional, cuyo objetivo es promover el desarrollo de estas competencias y mejoras en el futuro desempeño social, académico y laboral de los estudiantes de educación secundaria, mediante un programa de formación docente. Por último, en la discusión se plantean propuestas de política pública en la formación inicial y continua del profesorado, de calidad, innovadoras e inclusivas.
