Abstract
Este ensaio se é fruto de reflexões conjuntas entre educação e extensão rural a partir das experiências teóricas e práticas dos autores. Surgindo de um debate entre pesquisadores, este ensaio se insere na linha de trabalhos como os de Peixoto (2008), Pires (2018), Freire (1983) e Gadoti, pensadores articulados. Este ensaio parte da apresentação do conceito de desenvolvimento para apresentar sua relação com os contextos mais nacionais e globais, apontando como a extensão rural surge desse contexto, e conclui apontando para a necessidade de uma extensão rural que, para além da técnica, seja mais humanizadora na medida que se torne, cada vez mais, relacional a partir de uma ecopedagogia.
