A doença de Kawasaki, também denominada Síndrome dos linfonodos mucocutâneos, é uma vasculite sistêmica, autolimitada e aguda, que predomina-se em crianças menores de 5 anos, acometendo vasos de médio calibre e caracterizada principalmente pela febre alta e de longa duração. As complicações cardiovasculares, particularmente as anormalidades coronarianas são as mais prevalentes. Assim, o prognóstico da doença relaciona-se à avaliação e diagnósico precoce, afim de minimizar o risco de sequelas graves.
