Abstract
Le 10 mars 1939, alors que Clément Cormier est à terminer ses études en sciences sociales à l'Université Laval, il s'adjoint quelques camarades acadiens du même établissement pour fonder un groupe d'« universitaires acadiens de Laval 22 ».Suivant ses idées sur la question nationale acadienne et sur le rôle que doit jouer la jeunesse dans la société, qu'il tire des enseignements de la JEC, Cormier, de même que ses collègues, souhaite que l'association naissante serve de lieu de ralliement à la jeunesse étudiante d'Acadie, où elle pourra se former et s'engager envers la question nationale.Comme l'affirme le secrétaire du groupe, Émile Melanson :
