Community-Based Tourism (CBT) merupakan konsep yang diarahkan untuk diterapkan pada Desa Mekarsari untuk pengembangan desa wisatanya, karena kegiatannya yang mendukung cara hidup masyarakat lokal dan upaya mereka untuk mencapai kesejahteraan. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi CBT di desa ini sehingga dapat memberikan wawasan untuk pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan studi lapangan dan wawancara dengan Staff Pelayanan Kantor Desa, Ketua Desa, Penggiat Pemuda dan Kelompok Sadar Wisata Desa Wisata Mekarsari, dimana data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan interpretatif. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa CBT di Desa Wisata Mekarsari masih dalam tahap pengembangan dan memiliki potensi yang baik dengan keberagaman alam dan komoditas unggulan seperti teh, kopi, dan susu sapi. Namun, terdapat hambatan dalam pengembangan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat, seperti keterbatasan sumber daya manusia dan kurangnya kerja sama antara pengelola objek wisata dan pemangku kepentingan. Untuk mengatasi ini, diperlukan investasi dalam pelatihan dan pengembangan kapasitas masyarakat serta membangun kemitraan antara pemangku kepentingan untuk mencapai pertumbuhan pariwisata yang optimal dan memastikan manfaat ekonomi dirasakan oleh masyarakat setempat.
