Abstract
Les rockumentaires À soir on fait peur au monde (François Brault et Jean Dansereau, 1969) et Tabarnac (Claude Faraldo, 1975) témoignent des possibilités d’expression collective engendrées par la rencontre du rock québécois et du cinéma. Ces deux longs métrages participent aux efforts accomplis par Robert Charlebois, Louise Forestier, le Rock libre du Québec et les musiciens d’Offenbach pour diffuser une image saisissante du Québec post-Révolution tranquille. Faraldo, Brault et Dansereau rendent audibles et visible — tout en les amplifiant par différentes stratégies représentationnelles — les procédés affectifs propres au rock québécois au moment où celui-ci s’impose en France. Ils contribuent ainsi à la constitution d’un répertoire émotionnel significatif autour duquel le public québécois est appelé à se rassembler. Le présent travail s’inspire des écrits d’Erin Hurley sur la mise en scène de la québécité tout en poursuivant les analyses du rockumentaire proposées entre autres par Keith Beattie et Michael B. Baker.
