Abstract
Cet article développe l’hypothèse voulant que les espaces mésestimés de la culture québécoise contemporaine au cinéma ne le soient pas à cause de leur excentricité géographique mais plutôt en raison des liens mal connus qui y règnent entre des émotions et des environnements matériels spécifiques. Liens qui sont circonscrits par ce champ des études culturelles et de la philosophie critique qui s’intéresse à la « vie ordinaire ». La standardisation de la consommation a contribué à créer le contexte où ville et campagne, banlieue ou ghettos sont parfois reliés, parfois même confondus dans les infra-histoires et les micro-émotions de la vie ordinaire. Or ces dernières n’occupent pas de place définie dans les cadres historiques depuis la Révolution tranquille au Québec. Par conséquent, les récits du cinéma en sont affectés, qui nécessitent des modes de lectures plus attentifs à la représentation de la médiocrité, ou de l’incompatibilité territoriale, et à l’impact de celles-ci sur notre compréhension de l’espace commun.
