Abstract
Dans cet article, l’auteur s’intéresse à deux films de la contreculture qu’il réunit, par le geste de l’analyse, sous une dilogie. C’est que les filmsOù êtes-vous donc ?de Gilles Groulx (1969) etJusqu’au coeurde Jean Pierre Lefebvre (1968) offrent plusieurs points de convergence et on peut les voir comme deux étapes successives d’un même questionnement identitaire, questionnement que l’auteur appelle ledevenir-québécois. En plus de s’intéresser au rock, les deux oeuvres partagent la même actrice (Mouffe) et le même directeur photo, Thomas Vamos (qui donne son nom à la dilogie). Ces deux noms, auxquels ils faut ajouter ceux de Christian Bernard, Georges Dor et Robert Charlebois, participent avec les cinéastes d’une véritable énonciation collective qui a eu pour finalité d’inventer une identité nouvelle. À cet égard, l’article explique en quoi les affinités entre musique rock et cinéma ont permis cette invention importante pour la culture québécoise.
