Tento "rozhledový" text započíná sérii, která představí obrázky, jež budou výhledově použity v zamýšleném novém kurzu s předběžným názvem Antická filosofie a život.Záměrem kurzu (zamýšleným záměrem zamýšleného budoucího kurzu) je zdůraznit určitou rovinu antické filosofie, které nebývá v moderním badatelském pohledu věnována taková pozornost.Jde o rovinu praktického, každodenního významu filosofie.Tato rovina byla pro značnou část antických filosofů velmi významná, filosofie v jejich pojetí často znamenala určitý životní styl.Vzpomeňme na Sókrata -ten bude představovat snad nejlepší, ale nikoli jediný doklad této skutečnosti.Dokladem ze strany moderního bádání pak může být kniha P. Hadota s názvem Co je antická filosofie.1 Smyslem obrázků pak je postihnout a ilustrovat praktické či životní motivy v myšlení, ale také ve vlastním životě samotných filosofů.K tomuto účelu se hodí specifický kreslířský žánr, který autor kreseb František Felner charakterizuje takto:"Pro obrázkovou sérii antických filosofů jsem zvolil humorný až karikaturní styl kresby.Ten jsem sám z velké části vymyslel a během kreslení obrázků jsem se v něm postupně zdokonalil.Jeho cílem je být atraktivní pro čtenáře, za tímto účelem představuje filosofy vtipným a srozumitelným způsobem.Navzdory tomu, jak minimalisticky obrázky vypadají, jejich tvorba je časově náročná a vznikají ve více fázích.
