Introdução: A associação entre o consumo de café e o aumento dos valores de pressão arterial tem gerado controvérsia ao longo dos anos. Com este estudo apresentamos como objetivo investigar se o consumo de café está relacionado com a alteração dos valores de pressão arterial, nomeadamente se conduz a hipertensão arterial. Métodos: Revisão da literatura (RL), que inclui artigos científicos publicados entre janeiro de 2013 até junho de 2023. Foram selecionados seis artigos, de acordo com a normativa PRISMA. Resultados: Cinco dos seis artigos incluídos revelam que o consumo de café não aumentou os valores de pressão arterial dos participantes, com apenas um artigo com resultados em sentido contrário. Conclusão: O consumo de café não interfere com o valor de pressão arterial, sendo então o consumo diário de café compatível com uma vida saudável. No entanto, não é uma certeza absoluta, pois apesar de escassos, ainda existem estudos que indicam que o café está relacionado com um aumento da pressão arterial.
