Abstract
An efficient, atom-economic synthesis for a family of thio-oligosaccharides related to C. jejuni HS:4 capsular polysaccharide is facilitated by epoxide-mediated trans-thioglycosylation. Access to these thio-linked analogs, known to have enhanced metabolic stability, has the potential to boost immunogenicity, accelerating the development of a synthetic vaccine against C. jejuni HS:4, a multi-drug-resistant pathogen ranked as a high priority by the WHO.
