Tala, poemas de la guerra indiferente (1967), del poeta español en Canadá Manuel Betanzos Santos (1933–1995), plantea una dicotomía irresoluta: la denuncia de la guerra (desarrollada principalmente con estrategias de la poesía de guerra del bando republicano), frente a la indiferencia ante esa misma guerra (desarrollada principalmente con una deixis que distancia la guerra del hic et nunc del yo). El poemario muestra que el discurso sobre la guerra y la paz sigue todavía sometido a diferentes tensiones y dialécticas en los años sesenta, y desvela una faceta hasta ahora desconocida del papel de la poesía del exilio republicano en la historia cultural del franquismo y, en particular, de las celebraciones de los XXV Años de paz.
