New Information Technologies and the Organisation of Procuring - the Case of Gig prostitution

Abstract
How prostitution is practised has changed considerably in recent years: the place where supply and demand meet is no longer the public highway but the web, prices and services are determined during digital exchanges, and physical meetings take place in hotels or flats. What was known as a housed prostitution is now a street prostitution. This nowadays Gig prostitution is one of the modalities, particulary used by teenagers. This contribution will analyse the evolution of pimping with regard to the influence of new information technologies. Thereby, a parallel is drawn to observed formal labour relations. In particular, we will highlight the multiplication of tasks necessary for the organisation of the activity and the involvement of individuals charged with performing services in an intermittent and precarious mode.
