Abstract
Frequentemente, nos deparamos com a enunciação, por trabalhadoras/es, de percepções positivas sobre modalidades laborais distintas do emprego convencional, e manifestações desse tipo têm sido lidas, de modo prevalente, como mera expressão do triunfo de estratagemas empresariais de cooptação. Em desacordo, quero defender: há aí elementos valiosos para a investigação de uma conflitividade do trabalho. Este artigo traz alguns dos resultados de um estudo que se debruça sobre a posição da classe trabalhadora quanto ao assalariamento, relação social basilar do capitalismo. Por meio de um levantamento por amostragem probabilística de conglomerados em dois estágios, a pesquisa parte de um questionamento prosaico, dirigido a assalariadas/os formais do Recife (PE), acerca da vontade de trabalhar para si própria/o. Observadas, nessa experiência de classe, as contradições entre negação e consentimento, entre autonomia e heteronomia, busca-se iluminar os dispositivos de legitimidade da ordem capitalista contemporânea e auscultar aspirações emancipatórias que aí podem se gestar.
