Abstract
Cette proposition s’intéresse aux ressorts de la stratégie de conservation du pouvoir politique au Cameroun. S’il est un constat indéniable, depuis l’accession au pouvoir de Paul Biya en 1982, c’est bien que gouverner c’est trouver le moyen de confisquer le pouvoir plutôt que l’exercer. Au-delà du contrôle dont dispose le régime de Yaoundé sur les corps (Noah Noah et Nouffeussie Ngueuta, 2021), la conservation du pouvoir emprunte à la politique de la carotte autant qu’à la ruse. Nous faisons l’hypothèse que la construction et la dissémination de vérités alternatives participent des routines d’un pouvoir obnubilé par les moyens de sa reproduction. Ainsi, l’émergence d’une démocratie sans risque (Owona Nguini et Menthong, 2018) tient de l’instillation régulière de vérités arrangées. En tant que technologie de gestion des crises, les vérités alternatives transcendent les époques pour s’appliquer aussi bien aux périodes électorales qu’à la gouvernance des crises sécuritaires.
