Abstract
WGO Elects New President and Governing Council for 2024-2025 Term Professor Geoffrey Metz, MBBS FRACP MD FRCP (London) AM AO, was elected as the 2024-2025 President of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) by the General Assembly on December 14, 2023. Prof. Metz is affiliated with Epworth Hospital Richmond, Victoria, Australia. He has served on both the Governing Council and Executive Committee as Secretary-General (2018-2021) and President-elect (2021-2023). He was also the first Chair of the WGO Climate Change Committee.
