Abstract
Dans cet article, l’auteur étudie les carrières de femmes engagées dans l’arbitrage au handball et au rugby, en interrogeant leurs expériences dans le milieu sportif et leurs perspectives d’évolution dans la hiérarchie arbitrale. La première partie montre la diversité de capitaux qu’il est nécessaire de maîtriser pour poursuivre une carrière d’arbitre, tout en soulignant les obstacles spécifiques aux femmes arbitres qu’elles peuvent rencontrer au cours de cette carrière. La seconde partie recentre l’analyse sur les interactions vécues par ces arbitres durant lesquelles ces capitaux sont mobilisés pour mettre en scène des formes de féminités légitimes dans des environnements sportifs traditionnellement dominés par les hommes.
