Dans cet article, nous présentons l’analyse argumentative de l’oeuvre Della Eccellenza e dignità della donna (1525), l’un des traités les moins étudiés de la Querelle des femmes. Son auteur, instruit à la cour du Duché de Milan, se démarqua parmi les humanistes les plus notables de son temps grâce à son poste de secrétaire de Francesco II Sforza. Galeazzo Flavio Capra rédigea l’oeuvre en prose vernaculaire, réélaborant des modèles classiques et réinterprétant Pétrarque, Boccace, ainsi que d’autres écrivains contemporains. Cette étude vise à montrer l’originalité de cette oeuvre qui sut avancer des arguments qui seront utilisés postérieurement par d’autres auteurs en faveur des femmes. Ces arguments vont défier la tradition et des valeurs littéraires et culturelles de l’époque.
