L’article procède à une analyse de la présence des personnages ivres sur les scènes foraines de 1717 à 1727 (ces dix années correspondent à des limites chronologiques délimitées pour notre thèse, et explicitées dans cet article). Nous avons ainsi procédé à un relevé statistique, que nous souhaitions le plus précis possible, de l'ensemble des pièces présentant des états d'ivresse marqués, mais également de simples mentions de vin ou d'un désir de boire. Nos recherches ont permis d'établir que plus de 50% des pièces de ces dix années de spectacles forains mentionnent « le bon jus de la treille ». Nous avons tenté de comprendre les raisons d'une telle récurrence de l’imaginaire de l’ivresse et du vin à la Foire.
