Abstract
Entre les deux guerres, la photographie fait une entrée remarquée dans les livres de lecture pour la jeunesse, de l’imagier au livre de catéchisme. Quelques récits de voyage illustrés de photographies voient timidement le jour parmi lesquels, en 1934,Hors du nid, de Charles ab der Halden. Il est illustré par la photographe Laure Albin Guillot, figure majeure de la photographie de l’entre-deux-guerres. Cet article se propose de cerner le genre de cet ouvrage, entre roman scolaire, récit de voyage et portrait de pays. Il examine comment les photographies participent de ce genre et analyse la collaboration des mots et des illustrations photographiques.
