Abstract
À partir de l’analyse de dix collections de documents produites depuis le soulèvement de 2011, nous identifions les dynamiques d’archivage propres à l’espace transnational de l’exil syrien. Ceux qui font profession de collecter et de préserver ces documents ont développé une nouvelle pratique située à la frontière du militantisme, de la justice internationale et des politiques culturelles pour définir les normes d’archivage, les règles de propriété et la matérialité de ces archives. Cette arène transnationale forme ainsi un « champ faible » influencé par d’autres secteurs d’activité globalisés. Malgré ce rapport de force, le tournant archivistique syrien produit des contre-archives qui contribuent à la formation de récits autonomes sur l’histoire contemporaine syrienne. Pour développer notre analyse, nous distinguons trois familles de fonds documentaires : les archives patrimoniales, notamment architecturales, les archives révolutionnaires, documentant les productions culturelles du soulèvement, et les archives probatoires, réunissant les preuves des violences commises pendant la guerre. Cet ensemble forme un épistémè concurrent de l’archive d’État, dans le prolongement du soulèvement de 2011.
