En la Cumbre de Quebec en 2001, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo presentó una serie de programas estratégicos en las áreas de gobernabilidad democrática y desarrollo político, integración y desarrollo económico, medio ambiente y desarrollo sostenible, equidad y desarrollo social, y conectividad y desarrollo tecnológico. Desde entonces el BID, en cooperación con los países y con otras instituciones y organizaciones internacionales, ha desarrollado una amplia gama de actividades respaldando aquellos programas estratégicos que coinciden con las prioridades adoptadas por los Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno en la Declaración de Quebec y el Plan de Acción. Este informe enumera una serie de actividades y acciones financieras, técnicas e institucionales, ejecutadas por el BID desde 2001 en seguimiento de los programas estratégicos presentados en Quebec, así como de los mandatos adoptados en esa cita hemisférica y los de la Declaración de Nuevo León.
