In this paper, we study the ring of Chow characteristic classes (also called the Chow ring of the classifying space) for the split spin group Spin [Formula: see text] with [Formula: see text] odd or divisible by [Formula: see text]. For such [Formula: see text] up to [Formula: see text], we determine this ring modulo torsion.
