Abstract
The ACADVL Variant Curation Expert Panel (VCEP) was established by the Clinical Genome Resource to refine and create ACADVL gene-specific guidelines for variant classification. Biallelic pathogenic variants in this gene are associated with very long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency. Due to the relatively high carrier frequency for this autosomal recessive disorder and the possibility of ambiguous biochemical newborn screening results, the ACADVL gene requires special considerations for variant classification.
