Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The photonic distribution of radiofrequency (RF) signals lies at the heart of microwave photonics (MWP). This chapter focuses on the MWP link (MWPL), which is the cornerstone for the implementation of RF signal distribution systems and networks by optical means. It discusses the main application of MWPLs, which is in the implementation of fiber-wireless (FW) telecommunication systems and networks. The chapter also discusses the specialization of the degradation mechanisms in these systems. An FW Network is composed of multiple FW systems, integrated as an overlay in the existing infrastructure of an access network, and more particularly, in passive optical networks. There are three options for the transport of wireless signals modulating an optical carrier from the central office to the base station and vice versa: radio over fiber, intermediate frequency over fiber and baseband over fiber. The capacity of FW networks can be drastically increased by employing dense wavelength division multiplexing.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
